Influencer marketing has become a big thing. Content creators today are building millions of followers on Instagram and Tik Tok, and global brands are discovering that influencers endorsing their products can be highly effective at driving sales.

But what about smaller e-commerce retailers? There are 1.75 million Shopify merchants and another 5 million Wordpress/WooCommerce merchants. How can these smaller merchants harness the power of social media influencers?

That’s exactly the problem that Tipzty, a new startup in Medellin, Colombia, is solving. For merchants, Tipzty provides a software plug-in for their Shopify or Wordpress site. As a consumer scrolls the site looking for products, they can click a button and a video pops up, with a Tik Tok or Instagram influencer talking about that product, encouraging the consumer to buy it now.

But what if you don’t know how to contact influencers to endorse your product? Tipzty solves that as well, proving merchants with an influencer marketplace where they can find appropriate influencers who will produce videos to be featured.

Celebrity endorsements have been around for a long time, but the social media world takes this notion to the next level. And Latin American culture is especially engaged by the concept. Tipzty has launched in Colombia, and expects to roll out to additional countries in Latin America later this year.

Online merchants everywhere want to increase conversions, improve the shopping experience they provide, and drive revenue. The innovative new platform developed by Tipzty allows them to do all that — while continuing to use their existing e-commerce software.
